The weekend commenced on Saturday 29th April with a show on the Castle Gardens Main Stage at a very sunny and warm Rochester Sweeps Festival 2023. With Brandon Virtue stepping up to the drum stool in place of Craig, who was unavailable on the day, the band quickly reached top gear by belting out some of their top tunes including Missing You, Dreamland, Help Me Man, Listen To Me and When I'm Down, the latter producing some line dancers to the front of the stage. Excellent!! With a very large crowd in attendance a great time was had by all.
On Sunday 30th April the band, with Craig returning to drum duties, headed to the Priory Hotel, Dover. The Priory has hosted some top bands and artists in recent years and the Crows, making their second appearance at the venue can feel that they put on a very decent show. The band played for around 2 hours and 15 minutes allowing them a chance to delve into their repertoire and play songs that are not normally included in their festival sets. On this occasion there was a debut performance of Behind The Rain, the lead track from the band's second album. Once again, a very good numbered crowd was in attendance. Many thanks to landlord, Eric, Andy and the team and the band hope to return in the near future.
On Spring Bank Holiday Monday 1st May 2023 the Crows returned to Rochester Sweeps Festival for an appearance on the new Eastgate Quarter Stage. With black clouds circulating in the gloomy skies and drops of rain in the air as the band hit the stage the omens did not look good. But, just as sound engineer, Ben, had predicted the skies brightened up within 10 minutes and a very good audience accumulated, staying to enjoy another lively set in the final afternoon of the weekend festival. Many thanks to Ben the sound engineer for providing excellent sound and a top-level weather prediction. Rochester Sweeps is a fantastic festival that should be on everybody's radar to visit and the band very much look forward to returning next year.
